Treatment Options: A Guide for People Living with Pain is an important resource for providing credible and comprehensive information for people in chronic pain.This resource discusses why pain management is important, how to speak with your health care provider about pain, goals of therapy, and advantages and disadvantages of different treatments. Medications such as hydrocodone, oxycodone, hydromorphone, meperidine, methadone, propoxyphene and fentany are discussed as well as how to take these medications. Psychological consultation, counseling & stress management, relaxation therapies, hypnotherapy/hypnosis, and other psychosocial interventions are explained.
