The 10-question Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) was developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) specifically for primary care settings as a screen for detecting at-risk or hazardous drinking. Description:
The Clinical Screening Instrument is meant to be used as an adjunct to the AUDIT. The WHO recommends utilizing this instrument as a follow-up to the AUDIT if a clinician suspects that a patient may not be providing accurate answers to the AUDIT. Its use is also recommended in situations in which it may not be appropriate to administer the AUDIT, such as when a patient is clearly intoxicated.
