• American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

  The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is a professional medical organization composed of child and adolescent psychiatrists trained to promote healthy development and to evaluate, diagnose, and treat children and adolescents and their families who are affected by disorders of feeling, thinking, and behavior.

• American Association of Suicidology

  This is the website of an organization of mental and health professionals, researchers, suicide survivors, and many other people involved in the study of suicide as a means of prevention. The site is research oriented.

• American Psychological Association

  The American Psychological Association has topics on mental health in America. The suicide topics focus on resolutions passed by the council and letters sent to Congress on combating suicide.

• Children's Health Topics: Depression and Suicide

  These pages contain articles on teen suicide and a variety of subtopics, including depression, firearms, violence prevention, influence of the media, and bereavement.

• Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance

  This website discusses depression and mood disorders. It provides information to recognize suicidal thinking and what to do to prevent it in yourself.

• National Alliance on Mental Illness

  The NAMI site gives information on suicide prevention as well as statistics of deaths from suicide through 1995.

• Suicide Prevention Action Network USA

  This organization, created by grieving parents, sets out to create community lifelines to help prevent suicides in youths. The website contains government reports on the suicide rates in the United States.
